A teenager has been arrested following a “series” of alleged sexual assaults at a Sainsbury’s superstore.
Sussex Police said multiple women reported incidents on an escalator at the store in Rustington, West Sussex.
The force confirmed a 19-year-old man from Littlehampton has been arrested for sexual assault by touching following enquiries with the co-operation of Sainsbury’s security. Witnesses or those with information are now being asked to come forward.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Our enquiries, with the co-operation of Sainsbury’s security, have led to a 19-year-old man from Littlehampton being arrested for sexual assault by touching.
“Any witnesses and victims are encouraged to contact police on 101, quoting serial 1021 of 02/05.”
