Ed Sheeran might be more than a guest at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding.
The “Love Story” singer quipped last year that it would be “hard” to keep her friend off the stage during her special day.
During Swift’s October 2025 “Capital FM Breakfast Show” appearance, co-host Fleur East noted that Sheeran, 35, had recently told listeners about being “constantly asked to perform at people’s weddings.”
East then asked Swift, 36, directly whether her pal would be “singing at [her] wedding.”
With a smile, the bride-to-be, who got engaged in August 2025, predicted Sheeran could bring “energy” to her nuptials.
“He’s like, ‘I’m always being asked to sing at weddings,’” she continued. “It’s like, ‘Ed, if there’s a stage you know that you’ll be on it.’ He knows what people want, and he wants to give people what they want.
“That’s the fun thing about our friendship is we both love performing, we love writing and we love singing,” Swift added. “We’re like, ‘Oh, don’t make me sing! All right!’”
Our insider told us Swift took a page from Sheeran’s private 2018 wedding and modeled her covert ceremony in a similar fashion.
“To this day, no one knows exactly who attended Ed Sheeran’s wedding, and that’s the model for this one,” the source said. “Total secrecy.”
The Grammy-winning musicians, notably, have been friends for years and have collaborated several times.
Rumors swirled last year that the friendship was “strained” after Swift dropped “The Life of a Showgirl” just weeks after Sheeran released his “Play” album.
However, the latter shut down rumors of bad blood in November 2025.
“We’ve been friends for very, very many years,” Sheeran explained to Access Hollywood at the time. “We’re super close and we see each other when we see each other, and when we see each other, we lock back into where we left off.”
That day’s Madison Square Garden fête will include an estimated 1,000 guests and potentially feature onstage performances, the New York Times alleged Wednesday.
The celebration will reportedly come on the heels of a more intimate 100-person party at the same venue on July 2.
