Taylor Swift and Blake Lively may never, ever be getting back together as friends.
“There hasn’t been an olive branch when it comes to their friendship,” the insider said. “And Taylor hasn’t extended a wedding invitation to Blake.”
The update comes after the Daily Mail reported that the “Fortnight” singer, 36, and the “Gossip Girl” alum, 38, had resumed contact following the fallout surrounding Lively’s legal battle with her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director, Justin Baldoni.
According to the outlet, sources claimed the Grammy winner had become more receptive to speaking with Lively as the lawsuit wound down, and that the actress was optimistic about repairing their friendship.
One insider even alleged that “everyone around Taylor is aware that Blake could attend” the ceremony, while another claimed the actress was “slowly getting back into the fold.”
The singer “is taking a break from their friendship right now. Taylor is really hurt by this whole situation and feels like a pawn,” an insider said at the time.
“Taylor wants nothing to do with this whole ordeal. She has always been a loyal friend to Blake and doesn’t appreciate being thrown into this at all.”
Swift and Lively’s friendship dates back to 2015 after Lively shared a photo from a L’Oreal campaign, which referenced Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video. It caught Swift’s attention, and the pair began spending time together.
Flash forward to May, reports surfaced that Swift had originally decided to snub Lively from the upcoming wedding ceremony following their friendship fallout over the actress’s “It Ends With Us” legal feud.
However, an insider told us at the time there was “a far greater chance” of an invite being extended to Lively now that her sexual harassment case against Baldoni is over.
