A victory for Arne Slot’s men would further establish them in the top five spots, which have already been confirmed as being enough to qualify for the Champions League. By the time the game kicks off on Sunday, Manchester United will already have played Chelsea, meaning at least one of those sides will have dropped points.
But Liverpool can only focus on itself, and it will have to be at the top of its game away at Everton, with Slot’s men having lacked energy and intensity for much of this campaign.

Beto scored twice in that win, while Iliman Ndiaye also netted — and he has been excellent for David Moyes.
“He’s an absolutely fabulous player — he’s brilliant,” Jamie Carragher said on Monday Night Football after Ndiaye starred for Everton against Sunderland earlier this season.
“I watched him a couple of weeks ago against Man City; it looked like a Man City player was playing for Everton — that’s the best way I can describe him.

“This guy is Everton’s best player, and he was Everton’s best player last season by a long way.”
So far this term, Ndiaye has scored six times and provided three assists for his teammates in all competitions. At 26, he should be entering the prime years of his career.
On Friday, Moyes confirmed that his side will only be missing Jack Grealish as it takes on Liverpool. Ndiaye is likely to start alongside the likes of the in-form Kienan Dewsbury-Hall and James Garner.
“Charly Alcaraz is back and back training now,” Moyes told the media in his pre-match press conference. “I think we’re as close to [being fully fit] as we can be.”

Currently eighth in the Premier League standings, Moyes says his side is ready to challenge for a place in Europe next season, with the Champions League not completely out of reach.
“Well, if they don’t rise to it, then I don’t know what they’d rise to,” Moyes added. “Over the years, if it’s having a last game of the season and avoiding relegation, then that’s nothing to celebrate, really.
“I don’t think you can be a team in the relegation zone and just surviving. I think you can celebrate winning trophies or challenging for Europe, so I hope they can enjoy this side of it rather than the side we’ve seen before.”
Liverpool.com says: Ndiaye is a lovely player to watch. His numbers in terms of scoring and assisting would need to improve to make him a regular at a Champions League club, but Liverpool will need to be mindful of the chances that he can create.
