Manchester United are in with a strong chance of qualifying for the Champions League this season, which would see them receive a £10m boost from their adidas kit deal to support their summer transfer budget
Manchester United could be just over a fortnight away from landing a £10million windfall to bolster their summer transfer kitty – assuming they triumph in their next three fixtures against Chelsea, Brentford and Liverpool. United are well placed to secure next season’s Champions League spot, currently occupying third place in the Premier League standings.
Their 10‐year kit agreement with adidas contains a clause that cuts the annual payment by £10m if they miss out on the competition, meaning qualification would ensure the full sum. Earlier this month, football finance expert Kieran Maguire explained how substantial that increase would be for the club if they return to Europe’s premier club competition.
United are back in Premier League action against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the weekend, aiming to bounce back after Monday’s deflating home loss to Leeds United.

United face another stern examination as they seek to string together three victories from their final six matches to clinch Champions League qualification.
They currently enjoy a seven‐point advantage over sixth‐placed Chelsea. Three straight wins including the fixture away at Liverpool on May 3rd would seal Champions League qualification.

Should they fail to claim victory in those three fixtures, Michael Carrick’s side will likely need to take maximum points from their remaining matches against Sunderland, Nottingham Forest and Brighton on the final day.
Any combination of three wins would be sufficient.
On the prospect of qualifying for the competition, Carrick said: “It’s where we want to be, first and foremost, not so much the other teams but it is important.
“The more opportunities we have for that, the better.
“We would obviously like to finish as high up the league as we possibly can and to have so many English teams involved in it and in that competition, pushing, it then benefits the teams in the league and overall it is fantastic.
“But overall, we get quite selfish when it comes to things like that. It is where we want to be for ourselves more than anything.”
United have lost just two of their 11 matches and claimed seven victories since Carrick took the reins in mid-January.
