Over the years, fans have been left baffled by some of Netflix ’s unexpected cancellations, from thriller The Society to sci-fi series Shadow and Bone.
Now a new line-up of shows have fallen victim in 2026 so here’s a rundown of what won’t be returning to the streaming giant.

The show was headlined by Eleonora Srugo and despite its links to Selling Sunset, won’t be returning for a second outing after its release last year.
There’s also been reports that filming has been halted on Selling The OC, which starts luxury real estate moguls Jason and Brett Oppenheim.

The Abandons
Netflix’s big budget Western drama with Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey made its debut at the end of 2025.
Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter reportedly left the show before the end of production and took to Instagram to share his frustrations after the cancellation news.

Alice in Borderland
Japanese dystopian thriller Alice in Borderland ran for three seasons but even though its latest series ended ambiguously, Netflix confirmed there would be no more episodes.
Actress Tao Tsuchiya previously told The Hollywood Reporter in 2025 that she thought the drama was going to end after a second season.
She shared: “I felt like that was a great way to finish the story. So I was kind of surprised when they presented season three to me!”
Miss Governor
Comedy series Miss Governor was released in two parts last year but it was last month that the series was given the axe after just one season.
Taking to Instagram, actress Terri J Vaughn posted: “I have to admit, I was quite heartbroken when I first got the info. I really worked my ass off to make that show come to fruition.
“My heart and the intention behind the show was just, and I still feel it was just so beautiful and purposeful [and] impactful…to be able to tell those stories through that character.”
Billionaires’ Bunker
Created by Money Heist masterminds, Spanish drama Billionaires’ Bunker was expected to be a big hit.
However, Netflix chose not to renew the psychological thriller, confirming the news to El Pais in December 2025, despite series one finishing with an open-ended finale.
