The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a warning to content creators and individuals over the unauthorised use of its name, logo, uniforms and other official identity in skits and online productions.
The anti-graft agency said it has observed a growing trend where creators feature the Commission in comedy skits and other digital content without official approval.
EFCC raises concern over misuse
In a video shared on its official X handle, the EFCC stated that many of such portrayals misrepresent its values and operational procedures.
The Commission stressed that it has not granted permission for the use of its identity in any form of entertainment content.
According to the EFCC, its name and symbols are being used without authorisation, a practice it described as misleading and unacceptable.
Warning to creators
The Commission clearly stated that it does not endorse, sponsor, or approve any comedy, drama or online content that features its identity without written consent.
It further directed individuals to stop using its name, logo, uniforms or any identifiable elements in skits or promotional materials without prior approval.
The EFCC warned that any violation of this directive would attract legal consequences, including prosecution.
Commitment to enforcement
The agency reiterated that its identity must not be used in any media production without official clearance, adding that it remains committed to protecting its institutional image and integrity.
