Indie joined the paramedic team working for the Holby Ambulance service as a third-year student and fully qualified in 2025. After Naomi was announced as the actress portraying Indie, she said it was a “huge honour to work” on the soap.

Earlier this week, fans were concerned as the medical drama had been off air for a while. It was taken off the BBC schedule for a few weeks in a row due to a mixture of musical specials and sporting events, such as the FA Cup, taking its spot. Last week’s episode was bumped for two separate games – Chelsea vs Port Vale and then Southampton vs Arsenal.

However, Casualty returns to its usual slot this Saturday (11 April), on BBC One. Having first aired in 1986, the drama is the longest running primetime medical drama in the world. It took a hiatus for five months from September 2025 to January 2026, and fans who had been loving the show since it came back were upset by the schedule changes over the past few weeks.

Fans took to X to share their thoughts on the show’s absence, with one saying: “Settled down for Saturday night telly and just realised there is no #Casualty.” Another added: “When the BBC f**** about with Saturday night schedules, why is Casualty always the first, erm casualty?”

Casualty will shortly undergo a change. Towards the end of the year, the show will move to a new fictional hospital in Wales, with various Welsh characters set to be introduced.
