EastEnders fans noticed a hidden detail in Wednesday’s show that has them sure that a new character closely connected to Jasmine Fisher will be on the scene soon

EastEnders fans are certain a new character with close ties to Jasmine Fisher will soon be in Walford, as they pick up on a hidden detail in a recent episode. Towards the end of the episode airing on 8 April, a tiny moment in Kathy’s Cafe had fans wondering if Jasmine’s foster father, Colin Fisher, would turn up on Albert Square.

In the cafe, Peter Beale (Thomas Law) was handing out fliers for his father Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) council campaign. They read “Vote this real Beale manifesto” and accompanied posters littered around the Square that used Jasmine (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) to say Ian was tough on crime. After Peter placed a flier on one table, a hand pulled it closer as the camera lingered.

“Are we about to meet Jasmines Foster Dad?” asked one fan. “The quick shot of the hand in the cafe.” Another agreed that they were “trying to work out” if the shot was a “tease” or not.

A third said they thought the shot was definitely suggesting another character would be arriving on EastEnders, and added that in this episode, Jasmine’s foster father’s name, Colin, was mentioned for the first time.

“OMG yes! Everything feels purposeful at the moment, so lingering on the hand totally seems to be pointing at another character turning up,” they said. “And this episode was the first time we learned his name – Colin I think? – so it definitely feels like they’re paving the way for Jasmine’s foster dad to make an entrance.”

They continued to say that they thought Colin’s arrival would be timely, as there is still so much mystery about what happened between Jasmine and her previous foster family, the Goodwins. “Also this would make so much sense, as if Colin arrives he might be able to shed light on what really happened between Jasmine, Sandra and Keith as surely a social worker would have told him.”

In Tuesday’s episode, Jasmine’s former foster mother Sandra (Dawn Steele) told the teen’s biological grandmother Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) that Jasmine left her care because she thought the then eight year old might have played a part in her husband Keith’s death.

She told Kat that Jasmine, who had been a “difficult” child, and Keith were in a car together when it crashed and that, at the hospital, Jasmine gave Sandra a “blank” look that left her feeling like she might have caused the crash.

Jasmine got a chance to refute the claims in tonight’s episode. She told Kat that it was lies and that she was “devastated” by Keith’s death, but that Sandra blamed her anyway. Viewers felt there must be more to the story, with some wondering if Sandra were purposefully lying to cover up her own actions during Jasmine’s childhood.

“Keith was definitely abusive towards Jasmine and I think Sandra knew about it and is trying to protect Josh that’s why she chose to adopt him,” one fan theorised.

Another wondered if Sandra were really to blame for Keith’s death and decided to blame Jasmine: “Sandra’s husband is either a predator/abuser or she’s the one who offed him and blames Jasmine bc it’s easier making a then 8 year old the villain when she’s most likely is the actual villain.”
