Mansoor Ahmed, 31, of Blackthorn Avenue called British Transport Police and threatened the call handler while being taped – two days later he was arrested before being recorded sobbing to police

A convicted sex offender who phoned up British Transport Police (BTP) and threatened staff with violence was captured on film sobbing during a police interview days later.

Mansoor Ahmed, 31, of Blackthorn Avenue, West London was previously jailed for two years after BTP detectives arrested him for sexually assaulting two women on the London Underground in late 2020.

Then, on May 27 the dopey crook phoned up the BTP First Contact Centre, gave them the crime reference number for his crime, and proceeded to hurl abuse at the call handler for publicising his crimes and mugshot.

Ahmed, furious that his crimes and custody photo were made public after he was convicted, told BTP staff he would attack them at rail stations.

“I’m coming to stab all of you […] I’m coming to stab a transport police officer,” he said during his graphic monologue.

Ahmed also made a series of sexually violent threats towards women and children, before adding, “when I find one of your transport police officers, I’m going to put acid on his face”.

It only took detectives two days to track down Ahmed and take him into custody, on May 29. In an audio clip released by the force of his police interview, the wannabe hardman can be heard sobbing as he realises he is facing more time inside.

Through tears he told detectives how he found articles about his sex crimes on Google calling him a “predator” along with his mugshot. He said that “red mist” came over him on the call that stemmed from his crimes and photo being made public by BTP.

He was remanded in custody before appearing in court. At Inner London Crown Court on Friday Ahmed was jailed for six months.

BTP Detective Constable Lee Smith said: “Mansoor Ahmed’s threats towards our call handler and officers were frankly disgusting.

“He’s a career criminal with a string of previous convictions, so it was imperative we caught him soon after the call before he could harm our officers or the public.

“Once we tracked him down and took him into custody, he quickly changed his tune after realising he was faced with another stint behind bars.

“This outcome shows we’ll never stand for horrific abuse or threats towards anyone at BTP.”
