Olatunde Abiodun Olusanjo, a 53-year-old Nigerian, has been arrested in Los Angeles by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as part of ongoing deportation proceedings.
According to ICE, Olusanjo was taken into custody on April 21, 2026, by its Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) unit and is currently being held pending further immigration processes.
Authorities said the arrest is linked to previous criminal allegations, including child molestation, sexual battery, and solicitation of lewd conduct. The agency stated that these allegations formed part of the basis for his detention.
ICE also noted that Olusanjo had earlier encountered legal issues in the United States, adding that his criminal record contributed to the decision to place him in custody and begin removal proceedings.
The agency reiterated that its Enforcement and Removal Operations prioritises individuals with criminal histories as part of its mandate to support public safety and enforce immigration laws.
