Juventus’ interest in Alisson Becker has been bubbling away in Italy for weeks, and the noise is only getting louder as the summer window creeps into view. The Bianconeri are in the middle of a goalkeeping reset and, once again, their solution appears to be targeting one of the elite stoppers in European football.
Reports in the Italian press, led by La Gazzetta dello Sport, say Juve have already taken concrete steps by contacting Alisson’s camp and sounding out a three‑year deal for the 33‑year‑old.
The Brazilian is said to be receptive to the idea of a return to Serie A for what could be the final prime contract of his career, with the Turin project framed as a “last big challenge” at the top level. Juventus, for their part, see Alisson as an immediate upgrade in goal and a leader who can stabilise a back line that has looked increasingly fragile this seaso
The context in Turin helps explain the obsession. Current No. 1 Michele Di Gregorio has been under scrutiny after a string of costly errors, particularly in Europe, and there is a feeling inside the club that they cannot afford another season of uncertainty between the posts. Juventus have been linked with a long list of names, but Alisson is consistently described as the “dream” signing.
Now Juventus sporting director Damien Comolli was quizzed by Gazzetta on their interest in both Alisson and Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, with the Juve chief keeping his cards close to his chest:
“Bernardo Silva and Alisson? I won’t name names (smiles). But yes, Juve always has the allure of attracting champions. What’s surprised me so far is that no player we’ve spoken to has said, ‘I’ll only come if you reach the Champions League.’ Players want to come to Juventus because it’s Juventus.”
Comolli added that his side are not only looking for free agents:
“I hold him up as a good example, but even he hadn’t won much before joining City. We’re not necessarily looking for players who have won or are necessarily free agents, but rather men with the personality to succeed and who can help younger players become winners.”
Alisson is currently injured for Liverpool, with a possible return at the end of April at the latest.
