A disturbing video has emerged from Ellu community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, showing an elderly man physically assaulting his wife in an incident that has sparked widespread condemnation.
The footage, shared on social media by an eyewitness identified as Lovina Solomon, captured the man repeatedly attacking the woman in what residents say is part of a pattern of domestic violence within the household.
According to the eyewitness, the assault reportedly stemmed from a domestic dispute linked to the man’s alleged extramarital relationship. She claimed that community members informed her the altercation was connected to the presence of a “side relationship.”
The witness described the scene as severe, noting that the woman was bleeding heavily during the attack and suggesting that such behaviour may not be isolated incidents within the marriage.
She also stated that the incident occurred while she was returning from the village and expressed concern over the level of violence witnessed in the community, calling attention to the need for intervention in cases of domestic abuse.
The video has since circulated widely online, drawing reactions from viewers who condemned the assault and raised concerns about the safety of victims in similar domestic situations.
