Military forces under Operation HADIN KAI carried out a successful ambush in the Sambisa forest region of Borno State, killing four suspected terrorists and recovering weapons and supplies during the operation.
The mission took place in the early hours of April 30, led by troops of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade working alongside local vigilante groups. Acting on intelligence reports indicating insurgent movement, the team positioned themselves at a known crossing point referred to as “Charlie Five.”
According to military accounts, the troops encountered the suspects as they moved from the Yale axis toward the Sambisa Forest. The soldiers engaged them immediately, overpowering the group during the exchange.
After securing the area, troops confirmed that four of the suspected terrorists had been killed. A search of the scene led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle along with 12 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.

They also found food supplies believed to belong to the group, including two bags of ground maize and a pack of spaghetti.
The operation concluded without any casualties on the side of the security forces, who returned safely to base. Follow-up monitoring and clearance efforts are still ongoing in the area.
Military authorities say the situation around the Sambisa axis remains stable, noting that troops continue to operate with strong morale as operations persist.
