Tyson Fury’s strict rules for daughter Venezuela before her engagement

Tyson and Paris Fury’s eldest daughter Venezuela is engaged to amateur boxer Noah Price, but Tyson isn’t thinking about it until his bout with Arslanbek Makhmudov is finished

Tyson Fury may be recognised worldwide as the heavyweight boxing champion, but at home to his seven children, he’s simply their father.

As he prepares to step back into the ring against a formidable opponent, Russian boxer Arslanbek Makhmudov, Tyson, 37, has said he is “very happy” for his eldest daughter Venezuela, 16, who recently got engaged to amateur boxer Noah Price, 17.

However, Tyson is too focussed on his bout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – which marks his return from retirement, again – to think too much about his oldest daughter tying the knot.

After the premiere of Netflix’s At Home With The Furys back in 2023, Tyson and his wife Paris Fury, 36, alongside their offspring have been thrust into the public eye, achieving mainstream celebrity status.

Venezuela accepted Noah’s offer of marriage at her lavish 16th birthday party, but Paris and Tyson have revealed that a “nervous” Noah approached things the old fashioned way, and asked for Tyson’s permission first. The heavyweight champion has said he will “bring the strippers” to his soon to be son-in-law’s stag do, if he gets an invite.

Noah asked for Tyson’s blessing on camera, with the Fury family’s foray into reality TV confirmed by Paris as getting a third season. Venezuela might be soon to be a married woman – she celebrated her hen-do in March, with a guest-list of 300 people and a custom gold gown – but she once, not too long ago, bemoaned the “strict” rules dad Tyson imposed upon her.

During filming for their Netflix programme, she voiced her frustrations to cameras, stating: “I get on well with my dad but he’s very strict. He just doesn’t like me wearing make-up and looking nice.” Tyson has imposed restrictions preventing the teenager from donning short skirts, applying heavy cosmetics and wearing extended false eyelashes, while also limiting the length of her acrylic manicures. She disclosed that Tyson once ‘went mental’ when she donned a fitted lilac mini dress. “My mum, being the fool that she is, sent him a photo saying ‘me and Venezuela are off to a party’, with a photo of me and her, and he went ‘she looks like this, she looks like that’. He went mental,” Venezuela recounted, before playfully remarking: “Strict parents raise sneaky kids.”

During a manicure appointment with her mum, Paris instructs Venezuela to trim her lengthy nails and get them “short, and I mean ugly short”. The supermum continued: “When she was growing up Big Tyson used to say she can do what she wants, wear make-up and miniskirts, go anywhere. We’re not putting rules on her. Then she turned 12 and all the rules changed. Tyson doesn’t like short skirts, lots of make-up or anything, but it’s just about him accepting he has a teenage daughter.”

Paris noted: “I can see she’s growing up into a young woman. It’s definitely new skills we need as parents because we’re not prepped for the teenagers yet.” She clarified that Tyson struggles to understand teenage girls, having been raised amongst five brothers. “I think she should be 14 or 15 before she starts going to social places. I think her dad thinks 25, 30,” Paris remarked. Despite clearly finding her father’s strict rules a source of frustration, Venezuela put the dilemma to her mum, asking: “He says I’m not leaving the door til I get married, but how am I supposed to get married if l’m not leaving the door?” When pressed on his approach to parenting, Tyson explained: “As soon as she got to 11, 12, she decided she was a woman. She’s tall, skinny, pretty. She’s got it all going on.”

He went on to add: “All the time they’re under my roof and I’m paying for them, they have to put up with my horrible rules. The moment they leave home, they can do exactly what they want when they’re adults can’t they? That’s just how the cookie crumbles.” Paris, meanwhile, made clear she wants Venezuela to forge her own way in life, insisting she won’t be able to ‘sponge off’ her famous father.

Paris explained: “By the time I was 12 or 13, your granny was showing me everything I needed to know about home life and then once a week I used to go to a centre where we used to do like Gypsy Traveller meetings.” Appearing wholly disinterested in the discussion, Venezuela hit back: “Being deadly serious now, I don’t have a plan. I don’t want to do anything, from the bottom of my heart.” To which Paris pointedly responded: “I always thought of how to better myself, you are obviously just a privileged little brat.”

When Venezuela celebrated her 14th birthday in spectacular fashion – complete with a limousine, alcohol-free champagne, elaborate balloon displays and an impressive flower arrangement, it gave a glimpse into the family’s lavish parties. The party followed Paris’s admission that the teenager now requires bodyguard protection when out in public due to kidnapping concerns. The mother-of-seven explained that due to the profile of the family being raised by the Netflix show, there were increased security concerns.

Speaking to The Sun, she explained: “Venezuela is starting to go places by herself. She went to the races last week and had a security team. She was asking why she had a bodyguard, as she found it embarrassing.” Yet security arrangements aren’t the only source of teenage mortification – Venezuela occasionally feels awkward about her father’s ‘strict’ household regulations.
