A viral video circulating on social media has shown a man believed to be a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, wearing President Bola Tinubu’s signature cap, attempting to take a selfie with the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, during an event in Lagos State.
In the clip, Obi was seen engaging with supporters who gathered around him as he arrived at the venue. Some of the excited supporters could be heard chanting, “My President, Peter Obi is here, everywhere stew,” as they tried to take photographs with him.
The man identified as a supposed Tinubu supporter was also seen appearing visibly excited while exchanging greetings with the former Anambra State governor amid the crowd’s movement for selfies and close interaction.
Peter Obi, who contested and lost the 2023 presidential election to President Bola Tinubu, has continued to maintain a strong public presence since the polls. He is expected to make another attempt at the presidency in 2027 under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Although several opposition figures are also reportedly interested in securing the ADC presidential ticket, there are indications that Obi remains a leading contender for the party’s nomination ahead of the next general election.
