Bradley Walsh’s Blankety Blank didn’t go down well with fans as it returns for a brand news series on BBC One
BBC viewers were all left saying the same thing as they tuned into the new series of Blankety Blank.
Host Bradley Walsh was back on televisions screens on Saturday (April 11) to host the latest episode of the popular quiz show.
Bradley welcomed six celebrities to the studio to fill in the missing blanks and help win brilliant prizes for some very lucky contestants.
This week, the presenter was joined by Richard Ayoade, Alex Jones, Stephen Bailey, Nadia Jae, Gyles Brandreth and Roisin Conaty.
However, some fans were not impressed with the episode, with some branding the questions “ridiculous”.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “Not funny anymore really. Maybe past its selll by date and celebs aren’t good #BlanketyBlank.”
Another added: “The blank questions don’t seem to be like they used to be. #blanketyblank.”
A third person said: “Most of the questions are so ridiculous with no obvious answer. No wonder they don’t score. #blanketyblank.”
Someone else posted: “#BlanketyBlank questions are a lot more random than there used to be.”
ITV The Chase presenter Bradley first started hosting Blankety Blank six years ago taking over from the late Paul O’Grady.
He has welcomed a number of huge stars onto the including Joanna Lumley and Alison Hammond but not all famous faces are keen.
Bradley previously told The Sun: “I tried to persuade Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill from our Doctor Who days to come on.
“They won’t have it because they’re frightened to make themselves look a bit silly but that’s what it’s all about. For me, you’ve got to come on and have some fun. You really do.”
The show, which first started in the 70s and was hosted by the late Terry Wogan, sees big-name stars helping contestants fill in the missing blanks of questions asked by Bradley.
The new series sees celebrities like Jonathan Ross and Julian Clary in the celebrity panel.
“He’s so funny and Julian’s obviously steeped in this sort of stuff. So his dry remarks, his dry wit is perfect for the show, it really is.”
