The Kano State Police Command has announced that the written examination for the recruitment of police constables will hold from April 28 to April 30, 2026, while urging applicants to strictly follow all instructions and avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes linked to the exercise.
In a statement released on April 25, the Police Service Commission (PSC), working in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, confirmed that the nationwide examination will take place across designated centres in all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
For candidates in Kano State, the examination is scheduled to be held at the North-West University Main Campus along Muhammadu Buhari Way. The authorities stated that only applicants who successfully passed the earlier physical and credential screening will be allowed to participate in the written test.
Qualified candidates have been instructed to access the official recruitment portal from April 24, 2026, in order to print their examination invitation slips, which will indicate their specific date, time, and venue of examination. Applicants are also required to present a pen, their National Identification Number (NIN) slip with a clear photograph, and a printed copy of the invitation card.
The approved dress code for the examination includes white shorts, a white T-shirt, and white canvas shoes, as part of the uniform instructions issued to all candidates nationwide.
The PSC reiterated that the recruitment process is completely free of charge and strongly warned applicants against engaging in any form of job racketeering or paying money to secure placement.
“The recruitment process is entirely free, and any attempt to solicit money from applicants will be met with the full force of the law,” the commission stated.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, also advised candidates to comply fully with all instructions and maintain order throughout the exercise, stressing the importance of discipline during the process.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a transparent, credible, and merit-based recruitment exercise as preparations continue for the nationwide examination.
