The Easter bank holiday is set to see some warmth after a colder snap with some areas in the UK welcoming a scorching 17C on Saturday according to new weather maps
New weather maps show temperatures heating up over the bank holiday as the nation can expect some sunshine this weekend.
Brits will see highs of 17C on Saturday, April 4 according to maps from WXCharts, which uses MetDesk data.
Warmer temperatures are predicted in the south and east, with the early evening set to be the warmest time of day.
At 12pm, London will reach 15C with areas in northern England remaining slightly colder. As the day closes, the warmth will continue, with Cambridgeshire welcoming 17C at 6pm.
The warmer spell is predicted after a colder snap with drizzly conditions towards the end of the week.
According to the Met Office: “The wettest and windiest weather is more likely towards the west and north of the country. Beyond Easter, a broad northwest-southeast split is most likely, though the extent of high pressure into southern areas is unclear.
“That said, northern and western parts are more likely to remain rather unsettled overall, with further spells of wind and rain, and areas further southeast should see the best of the drier, clearer interludes.
“Temperatures probably fairly close to average overall, but occasional warmer spells are possible in the south.”
On Saturday the south will see the warmer temperatures with several regions forecast sunshine. In the East Midlands temperatures are also heating up, with Nottingham and Derby anticipating 16C, according to the maps.

In the North, Manchester will reach 14C at 6pm with Yorkshire forecast to hit 15C. The unexpected temperatures come after the country was expected to see a colder snap over the weekend, particularly in Scotland and northern England.
