Manchester City have booked their place in the FA Cup final after a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Southampton in their semi-final clash at Wembley Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side were on the verge of defeat when Finn Azaz scored late to give the Championship side a surprise lead, raising hopes of an upset for Southampton, who arrived unbeaten in 20 matches.

City, however, responded quickly as Jeremy Doku levelled the score with a deflected effort before Nico Gonzalez completed the turnaround with a powerful late strike to seal victory.

The Premier League champions had controlled large spells of the match, hitting the post and forcing several saves, while also seeing a Southampton goal ruled out for offside before halftime.

Despite their dominance, City struggled to break through until Southampton struck first through Azaz, who fired from distance to spark celebrations among their supporters.

Doku restored parity soon after, and Gonzalez’s late effort ensured City secured a record fourth consecutive FA Cup final appearance.

The result keeps alive City’s hopes of winning a second trophy this season following their Carabao Cup success against Arsenal.

Guardiola is now set for his 24th Wembley appearance in 10 years as City await the winner of the second semi-final between Chelsea and Leeds United.
